The Pleasant Valley Gin remained active until recent years. This gin was the center of a thriving agricultural community in northern Lamb County that benefitted from the shallow water belt north of the sandhills. Local's will remember Betty Bryant who ran the Pleasant Valley Cafe near the gin.
