My faith

DateEntry
  1. Sept. 2026

I gave my life to Jesus Christ in September 2026, but the roots of my faith go further and deeper.

Soli Deo gloria.

A note on the texts

The Apostles’ Creed grew out of the confession made at baptism by the church at Rome, the Old Roman Creed of the second and third centuries, and took the form given here in the Latin West by the eighth century. It was not written by the apostles, but it was long held to set down what they taught.

The Nicene Creed was set out by the Council of Nicaea in 325 and enlarged by the Council of Constantinople in 381. It is the creed held in common by the Roman Catholic, Orthodox and most Protestant churches. The words “and the Son,” on the procession of the Holy Spirit, were added in the Latin West and are not said in the Eastern churches.

The Scriptures in the margin are from the King James Version of 1611, in its standard text of 1769. They show where each line of the creeds stands in the Bible; they are a reader’s guide to the sources, not a complete list of them.
